Sea melon seeds

Chinese name:海瓜子

Shellfish, molluscs, bivalve, Clamidae, Sakura clam family. Sea melon seeds are famous seawater specialties in Cixi City, which are mostly produced in mudflats with frequent tides. Sea melon seeds are named for their shape and size like melon seeds. They are scientifically named plum clams, also called “rainbow clams” and “flat clams”.
