mussels
Chinese name:贻贝
Mussel is a kind of marine mollusk and also a kind of shellfish belonging to the bivalve. Its body structure is basically the same as cockles, oysters , and mussels. However, in addition to connecting the left and right mantles on the back, there is a little healing at the back, so an obvious drainage hole is formed on the back. There are many branched small tentacles on the edge of the posterior ventral surface of the mantle. The water flowing through the mussel’s body flows from between these mantles with tentacles into the mantle cavity, and then passes through the gills to the back of the body and drains from the drainage holes. Mussels use the sea water flowing through the body to breathe and circulate. It also uses the tiny organisms brought into the body by the water to make food.
