Black sesame seeds are flat ovoid, about 3 mm long and 2 mm wide. The surface is black, smooth or has mesh patterns. The tip has a brown punctate hilum. Thin seed coat, 2 cotyledons, white, oily. Smell, sweet, with oily aroma. Aliases: flax, oil hemp, jusheng, fat hemp.
